I’m sorry to say that you cannot put the actual books you owned to your Kindle. Actually they are sold separately, if you buy both you’ll own both. Just like buying a movie disc, if I bought a DVD version, I cannot get the blu-ray verison. Hope you understand what I mean. I am an avid reader and I own the Kindle 2, so I also have the same problem as you too
I love my Kindle very much though. I think I’ve read over 20 books with my Kindle, no glitches so far! Since you’re considering to buy it, let me give you some of my opinions.
I love my Kindle because it has helped me improve a lot on my efficiency and utilize my time. Before I owned the Kindle, waiting time like when I’m waiting for friends or waiting for shuttle bus or some thing like that is simply wasted. Now I just need to bring the Kindle 2 along with me. Another thing I like the most is the text-to-speech function, which means I can “read” books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I like to use this function when I’ve myself busy on some boring things, say when I’m on the step machine or doing some housework…
I like reading and at the beginning I missed a bit on the feeling of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink seems to work very well, it is really like reading books… Now I often read with the Kindle for several hours but I don’t feel tired… And now I prefer to keep and organize all my books on my Kindle rather than organizing all the physical books, it is really much more convenient.
And just in case you don’t know, Kindle books are cheaper than that of actual books, many new books are sold at $9.99 or below. Amazon also provides quite a lot of free or very cheap books. I’ve previously bookmarked a good article talking about this:http://www.speedreaderxreview.com/is-kin…
I remember I read this review when I decide to buy the Kindle 2:http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i…
Hope it helps
No, you can’t. You must buy them all again. If I were you, I’ll only buy new books to the Kindle, and just look back to the physical book library when you want to look for something. I guess as you get more and more books in your Kindle, you’ll need less for your physical book library.
I’ll suggest you to read this review, it is the best one I’ve ever read:http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i…
Hope this helps you making up the decision.
No, you have to buy books for your Kindle separately. That isn’t a problem for me, I just refer to the physical books I own when I need to find some data from them. If I really love the book a lot, I’ll purchase another version for my Kindle.
I love my Kindle 2 very much. If you are thinking of buying one, I’ll say get it and you won’t regret. Since Amazon provide books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has saved me quite a lot of money. Right now I’ve read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the idea that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read with the device for long hours, I don’t feel tired. My only complaint is the white case, right now all the Kindles are in white color… I think it will be cool if I can have a black or deep blue color Kindle
I’ll suggest you to read this review too, it outlines quite a lot of benefits of the Kindle:http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i…
BTW, seems the Kindle 2 has just announced a price drop. Don’t know if it is a temporary sale or a permanent cut, so I’ll suggest to get it fast. It is now under $300…http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154J…
Hope this helps.
